Introducing the new 500KG Cube

The 500kg Cube is a compact, versatile anchoring solution designed for temporary works and hoarding projects where space is limited. Its smaller footprint makes it ideal for challenging sites, while its robust design provides the dependable support and flexibility you need from an Anchorbloc system.

Both the 500kg Classic and 500kg Cube provide reliable anchoring for temporary works and hoarding applications, with the same core functionality and key features. The main difference is their design and how they can be moved on site. With a smaller footprint than our traditional 500kg Classic, the Cube is ideal for applications where every millimetre matters. Its compact design allows blocks to be used in tighter spaces while still providing a robust 500kg anchoring solution.

The 500kg Cube has its own dedicated scaffold tube hole configuration and is not designed to be used in combination with other Anchorbloc blocks.

For some applications, this is an advantage. Rather than requiring a combination of block types to work around a restricted footprint, the Cube provides a consistent, standalone anchoring solution that can be specified specifically for the requirements of the project.

The Cube can also be triple-stacked, making it particularly useful where additional anchoring capacity is required but available space is restricted.

The 500kg Cube is well suited to projects where traditional larger blocks may not be practical, including:

  • Restricted footpaths and narrow working areas

  • Shopfronts and retail environments

  • Urban and high-footfall locations

  • Projects where minimising the footprint is critical

  • Applications requiring a compact, no-dig anchoring solution

With forklift handling and a compact footprint, the Cube gives contractors another option when conventional block configurations simply won't fit.

A compact, damage-free hoarding solution using the new 500KG Cube

The Project

Forward Contracting needed a secure, professional shop front enclosure on St Lawrence Street in Bath, creating a safe working area around the site while maintaining a high-quality finish.

The requirement was for a 4.40m high no-dig hoarding enclosure with a roof, including a cut-out for a timber access door to be installed by the client.

With the site located within an outdoor shopping centre, the installation also needed to be completed outside trading hours to minimise disruption to businesses and pedestrians.

The Challenge

The footprint available for the hoarding was limited, making our larger 1000kg Anchorblocs unsuitable for the application.

The solution was to use our 500kg Cube Anchorblocs, which offer a more compact alternative while retaining the key features and functionality required for temporary works applications.

The blocks were triple-stacked to provide the required anchoring solution while making efficient use of the restricted space available.

The Solution

Our team installed the complete 4.40m high no-dig hoarding enclosure overnight, including the roof and provision for the client's timber door.

The 500kg Cube's compact design allowed us to maximise the available space without compromising the requirements of the temporary works solution.

To provide additional protection to the pavement, rubber matting was installed beneath the Anchorblocs, creating a truly damage-free installation with no ground penetration.

Because the site formed part of a busy outdoor shopping centre, the installation was scheduled overnight when the surrounding shops were closed and pedestrian traffic was minimal.

Working efficiently within the available window, the team completed the installation in a single night, leaving a secure and professional enclosure ready for the client.
